3 Sure Ways To Get More Done
There are only so many hours in a day and it seems like it’s never enough. With work, Joshua’s school and everything that life sends our way I feel like my to do list is always about 20 things too long. But luckily, I’ve learned a few tips to get more things done each day.
1. Make a list.
I know this one is a basic, but make a list. And if you are like me and would forget your head if it wasn’t attached, make sure you list everything! I am a lister. I list out my stuff in a planner and each morning I make a (very) detailed list of what needs to be done.
I also write down a time estimate for each task. I learned this from a friend and it really helps! Not only does it help to keep me accountable and on track, but for those times when I look at the clock and see I only have 10 minutes before I have to pick Josh up, I can look at my list and find something quick to do. For me, if I look at the list and see laundry, dishes, dusting and vaccuming it’s not very motivating. But even though I don’t feel like cleaning, if I look at the list and remind myself that dusting the living room should only take 5 minutes to do I am much more likely to get it done.
2. Set a schedule.
Schedules are vital in my house. I have an all or nothing personality. I’m OCD about things, but only if they are perfect. But once they mess up it is hard to get on track. For me, I need a schedule. And I have to stick to it. I have a cleaning schedule where each day gets a basic vaccuum, dishes, laundry and quick pick up and the each day of the week has it’s own room for a more deep clean. (Monday is the master bedroom, Tuesdays are the bathrooms, etc)
But it’s not just cleaning. I have my business on a schedule. Josh is on a schedule. Heck, even our dinners is on a schedule for our meal planning. Having a schedule takes out the guess work of what is getting done. Leaving you more time to actually get things done!
3. Listen to music.
This one is my favorite. I’m a huge Pandora fan and having my favorite stations on helps me to not only work more quickly, but also to get motivated to get things done! I use the Lenovo™ 500 Bluetooth® Speaker and it’s awesome. Seriously, I take it wherever I go. It’s super easy to use, light weight so you can take it anywhere, rechargable, and looks good in your house. Plus, it has a built in microphone so when phone calls come in through your phone you are ready to go.
Listening to music on my Lenovo™ 500 Bluetooth® Speaker helps even the tasks that I don’t like more enjoyable. My speaker is brought into the kitchen while I cook, the bathroom while I shower, outside while I photograph, to the pool, and it gets cranked up while I’m vaccuuming! The sound is incredible.
It’s the perfect size and light to carry. Which means it’s no problem to go from the garden to the kitchen and everywhere in between.
I also love the value. Great quality and under $100! It retails for $79.99 making it affordable and a must have for everyone. Even better, I’m giving one away!! You know you want to win!
