“FABULOUS” HOLIDAY HIT RETURNS IN 2004 AT NEW VENUES
WITH NEW STARS!

Of the 2003 production of It’s a Fabulous Life!, Theater Critic Mary Damiano wrote, “IT’S A FABULOUS LIFE is a HIT! Guaranteed to become a Holiday tradition!”

GaySouthFlorida.com reviewer Alan Saban wrote, “… move over you tired Fab Five, this fabulous new show could be showing up everywhere in years to come! It could easily be dubbed the gay NUTCRACKER for its holiday appeal to the GLBT community.”

 And they were right!

It’s a Fabulous Life!, the Holiday Hit of last season, is back in 2004 - Funnier, Friskier and more Fabulous than ever!

Audience favorites Edison (Party Promoter Supreme) Farrow and David (Author/Personality) Leddick are returning as GABE the Special Elf and ARTHUR the erudite Angel. They will be joined by new cast member - Deco Drive Diva, Daisy Deadpetals as CARLO/CARLOTTA! In a rare “out of drag appearance,” Daisy and her alter ego Kenny Calabria are making their Theatrical debuts! Rounding out the cast are Ben Bagby, Ezequiel Hernandez, Nadeen Holloway, Brian Ricci, Andy Rogow, David Sexton, Dean Swann and CURTAIN UP AWARD winner for BEST NEW TALENT, E. L. Losados as JOE.

The new cast will be playing in some FABULOUS new venues! The show opens at Miami Beach’s beautifully renovated Byron Carlyle Theater on 71st Street, Thursday, November 25th. This Thanksgiving Day performance is a benefit for Care Resource and will be an Official White Party Event with a warm up cocktail reception at ROGER’S Restaurant and a boisterous after party at BOY BAR! For more information go to www.whiteparty.org. After a 2 weekend run in Miami, It’s a Fabulous Life is heading to The Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale!

IT'S A FABULOUS LIFE is a take off on the Christmas classic, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. The lead character, Joe, is having a very rough holiday season, writing and starring in "The Lavender Players" production of RANDOLPH THE RAINBOW REINDEER. Family tensions and backstage backstabbing cause him to wish he had never been born...GAY! An angel comes and shows him how things would be different if he had been straight! Along the way he encounters buff boys (WARNING! BRIEF ESKIMO NUDITY!) drag queens, unusual elves, even a heavenly Gospel Choir, and he starts to look at being gay in a whole new way.

Written by local author, David (THE NATURE OF THE BEACH) Sexton, FAB LIFE was originally a script to accompany The South Beach Gay Men's Chorus 2001 Christmas Concert. So many people asked him about it that he was inspired to flesh the concert script out into a real musical, complete with original songs - lyrics by Mr. Sexton, music by Albert (PAGEANT) Evans with Eric Alsford and Andrew Sargent.

Returning to direct the show is Broadway Director, Robert Johanson. Mr. Johanson is known for directing famous faces in familiar favorites. Having helmed the renowned WIZARD OF OZ at Madison Square Garden with Roseanne and the National Tour starring Eartha Kitt and Mickey Rooney, as well as FOLLIES with Ann Miller, MAME with Christine Ebersole, and ANYTHING GOES with Chita Rivera, Mr. Johanson is thrilled to be back in Florida with the show he helped make such a success last year.

IT'S A FABULOUS LIFE opens at the Byron Carlyle Theater – 71st Street, Miami Beach on Thursday Nov. 25 at 8p with performances scheduled for Fri. Nov. 26 at 8p, Sat. Nov. 27 at 7p and 10p and Sun. Nov. 28 at 4p. The same performance schedule will repeat the following weekend starting Dec. 1 - 5. For tickets to the Byron Carlyle: www.ticketmaster.com. Then the production moves to Ft. Lauderdale with performances Dec. 8 – 12. For tickets to the Broward Center: www.browardcenter.org.
