The Big Green Egg – The grill that can make anything

The Big Green Egg - The Grill That Can Make Anything

Before my trip to Florida and Tuckaway Shores I had heard of The Big Green Egg. Actually my step-dad has been dreaming of one for a while! He loves going to events where chefs cook on the grill and he always comes home with another 15 reasons why he must get one.

I however have never gotten the chance to experience the Big Green Egg myself so I was pretty excited to have a dinner prepared by professional Egg Heads!

When we got back from the Brevard Zoo we were greeted by some music and saw the Egg Heads hard at work.

Before I go on I should say that the Big Green Egg is not just a grill. It’s a grill, smoker and oven all combined.

It is an American designed ceramic cooker that was derived from an ancient clay cooking device known as a ‘kamado’.

You could tell that each of the chefs took such pride in their food and they were really passionate about it. We all really appreciated their hard work for preparing this feast for us!

All of the food that the Egg Heads made …. spectacular! This was a really creamy and delicious baked macaroni and cheese.

I’m normally not a duck fan, but this marinated duck breast and arugula salad was really good!

The steak was so tender and juicy and oh geez. It was just delicious.

They also had crab meat with broccoli and it was beyond good.

And dessert. I wish I would have gotten a photo of dessert but to be honest, I gobbled it up. I’m pretty sure most of the bloggers ate it pretty quickly too! They made Banana Foster and it was my first time having it. I have to say, I can’t wait to have it again.

I now know what the talk is all about! I have to admit, my step-dad was absolutely right. He needs a Big Green Egg. And I’ll be there often for dinner! 🙂

I have never had a chance to use one of these are to really see how it works so it’s a three in one that’s really cool? I kind of really like the idea I think my husband would love one. I guess I should price them first.
