RICCI as BRUCE
Brian, a native of NYC, got his education from the New England Conservatory
of Music, with degrees in Vocal Performance, and from the 29th Street
Reperatory School (Manhattan).While still in school, Brian signed
a contract with Boston Lyric Opera Company, where he sang comprimario
roles for 6 seasons. His professional experience includes leading
roles in La Boheme, Street Scene, Elixer of Love, The Rakes Progress,
The Ballad of Baby Doe, and La Traviata. He sang the role of “the
reporter”, and covered “Cegeste”, hand chosen by Phillip Glass,
for the premiere of his opera “Orphee”, performed at both the American
Rep. Theater and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).Richard Dyer,
music critic of the Boston Globe wrote, “Brian is a warm, rich baritone,
with a compelling middle register”. His musical theater experience
includes Curly and Will Parker in Oklahoma, Tommy in Brigadoon,Sky
in Guys and Dolls,Perchik in Fiddler,Ismay in Titanic the musical(Mosaic
Theater) and just finished a run of Captain Walker in the rock opera,
“Tommy”, to great reviews.In 1995, he made his NYC recital debut
at Weill Recital hall (Carnegie Hall).Last April, he was the baritone
solist with the Florida Philharmonic in Faure’s “Requiem”. A prolific
singer/songrwriter (also, his greatest love), Brian released his
first cd, entitled, “Now You Know”, on Bigbludolphin label, lyrics,
music and sung by Brian (available at select Border’s Books and
