Moms Check In – What Is Your Favorite Pumpkin Recipe

Moms Check In What is Your Favorite Pumpkin Recipe
First of all, Happy Halloween!! 🙂 Fall is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it from the smells to the pretty leaves. But I especially love …. the pumpkin! Bring on the pumpkin recipes!! This week we have to know – what is your favorite pumpkin recipe? Here are a few of ours!

LindsayHeadShot3Border-300x300

Lindsay (@SeeMomClick)

I love pumpkin everything! I think pumpkin pie is probably my favorite but pumpkin in baked goods (breads, muffins, etc.) is soooo delicious.

Pumpkin-Spice-Pudding-Parfaits-Recipe-710x1024
One of my favorite recipes that I whipped up is this Pumpkin Spice Pudding Parfaits. These are so easy and really tasty! And listen. Pumpkin is NOT just for fall. Eat that stuff up year round, baby!

Jenni-Eaves1-213x300

Jenni (@sweetpennies)

I love a good old fashioned pumpkin pie, piled high with Cool Whip!

pumpkin-pie-puppy-chow-with-text-682x1024
My newest and latest obsession however, is a Pumpkin Pie Puppy Chow recipe I’ve recently added to the blog.

Amanda-626x1024

Amanda (@its_a_fab_life)

Pumpkin is my thing. I love it. Before fall even started I ordered a case of pumpkin.

Just made these Apple Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Caramel Frosting .... OH MY GOSH!! SO good! And REALLY quick and easy! Pinning so I don't lose this recipe!!
Our favorite recipe to make with pumpkin is my apple pumpkin cinnamon rolls with caramel frosting. I add extra pumpkin to mine of course! They are a breeze to make and since they use pre-made crescent rolls they are done in no time! It’s everything fall in one bite. LOVE.

Moms Check In – What is your favorite pasta?

pasta

October must be a month for foodies. Pizza is being celebrated all month long. Of course pumpkin is everywhere. Candy is abundant. Did you know that it is also the month of National Pasta Day? It was last week! Did you celebrate?

Amanda-626x1024
Oh my gosh. I LOVE pasta. Sadly, right now I’m carb free, but man, if you put a bowl of Fettuccine Alfredo in front of me I’m not sure I could resist temptation! Mmmmm…..

My favorite pasta dish is chicken parmesan. We have an easy peasy one that we fix almost WEEKLY. I’m actually craving it right now as I type! Other than that……I’m not a huge pasta person, but I do also love a good homemade mac-n-cheese. Mm. Mmm. Mmmmmmm.

I looooove pasta so this is a tough one for me. One of my favorites is pasta with pesto. I like to make my own pesto (You can get my recipe
here) from the basil in my garden and freeze it to enjoy all winter long. It’s so easy to toss with a box of cooked pasta and absolutely
delicious.

– Lindsay is the mom of 2 and author of See Mom Click. She shares great deals, Disney happenings and recipes. You can follow her on Twitter here!

My absolute favorite pasta dish is Pad Thai. I love the fried rice/noodle combo, stir-fried with eggs and tofu, and the flavorful nuances of shrimp,
garlic, pickled vegetables and spices, peanuts and a wedge of lime. My mouth is watering as I write this.

Moms Check In – What is Your Favorite Pizza Topping?

pizza

Did you know that October is National Pizza Month? It’s also Friday which means for us, it’s pizza night! So this Moms Check In topic couldn’t have come at a better time! We want to know – what is your favorite pizza topping?

Amanda-626x1024
I’m weird. I love cheese, but I’m not a fan of lots of cheese on my pizza. It gets greasy. So I always end up ordering my pizza with ham and pineapple….light cheese and extra sauce. YUM! Needless to say I always end up getting my own pizza. But as a bonus: That means I always have leftovers for the next day!

I love ham and pineapple, but I’m also a fan of just plain ole’ pepperoni. Sometimes nothing is better than pepperoni. YUM!! I could seriously eat pizza EVERY single day.

Veggies! We usually order green peppers on our pizza but I also love black olives and spinach.

Hawaiian – pineapple is my #1

Moms Check In – What Will You Hand Out For Halloween This Year?

Moms Check In 1 Topic 5 moms (1)

Can you believe that Halloween is so close? Eeek! Me either! This week we want to know, what do you hand out for Halloween?

Candy

And don’t forget, next Thursday (10/16) from 1-2 PM we will be having a Twitter Party with UNICEF and HSN! There will be some pretty amazing prizes – over $300 worth! Be sure to RSVP here!

Amanda-626x1024

I go for the good stuff! But honestly, it’s probably more for selfish reasons than anything. I buy lots of candy “just in case” which really means so when we don’t use it all I can claim it. I’m a big fan of Kit Kats, Twix and Milky Way. YUM!! 🙂

– Amanda is the mom to Joshua and owns It’s a Fabulous Life. If you are looking for a one stop place for all things mom, It’s a Fabulous Life is it! Jenni-Eaves1-213x300

We usually go trick or treating and don’t pass out candy but the times we do, I usually pass out the good stuff. The Reese’s, and other yummy candy bars because those are my faves. Keeping my hands out of the candy bowl is a challenge.

– Jenni is the mom of one and the author of Sweet Pennies From Heaven. A hearth and home website, Sweet Pennies From Heaven focuses on recipes, crafts and creating a comfortable home. Follow her on Twitter here!

LindsayHeadShot3Border-300x300

We give out candy, and sadly it’s usually candy that I like so I munch on it before Halloween…which usually means I need to go buy another bag before the trick-or-treaters get here. You’d think I’d learn my lesson, but apparently not. Those Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups just cannot be denied!

– Lindsay is the mom of 2 and author of See Mom Click. She shares great deals, Disney happenings and recipes. You can follow her on Twitter here!

When I was a kid it was a big deal to get mini chocolate bars for trick or treat so that’s what I give out. I may or may not have to sample a few of them.

Get Organized Week with Moms Check In

Moms Check In 1 Topic 5 moms (1)

Did you know that this week is Get Organized Week. Seriously! It’s on the calendar! No lie! That got all of us thinking and talking about our own homes. I don’t know about you, but my house can always use more organizing! So we want to talk this week about what area of your home needs the most organization help?

organization

Amanda-626x1024

Our mail area and counter is the worst! Between mail and school papers it gets cluttered quickly and really easily. It’s such an eye sore too. I’ve been working on tackling it, but I’m learning quickly that it’s going to take everyone tackling it together! 🙂

– Amanda is the mom to Joshua and owns It’s a Fabulous Life. If you are looking for a one stop place for all things mom, It’s a Fabulous Life is it! Full of recipes, fashion, DIY projects, recipes and parenting articles it’s the place for all of Mom’s favorites to come together! Follow her on Twitter here!

Jenni-Eaves1-213x300

I need the most help in organizing the clutter. It tends to take over the house sometimes. Oh, and I think my kitchen cabinets need an organized makeover. I’m working on that now but my ears are open and ready for any tips from the organized mommas!!

– Jenni is the mom of one and the author of Sweet Pennies From Heaven. A hearth and home website, Sweet Pennies From Heaven focuses on recipes, crafts and creating a comfortable home. Follow her on Twitter here!

LindsayHeadShot3Border-300x300

Oh please, which part *doesn’t* need help? Paper clutter is my biggest problem by far so I’m going to say my kitchen. That’s where all the mail comes in, all the school papers, and all my lists to myself. It piles up until I make the time to sort it. I’m a terrible filer and badly need an organization system for my paper problems. Send help!

Well…there’s this storage room in the basement that used to be empty. Somehow it has become a jumble of don’t-want-to-get-rid-of-this important fill-in-the-blank. It’s become a great rainy day project…except it might take a downpour like in the days of Noah before I’d get it finished.

000000000The entire family is dressing up as Star Wars characters! I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in years but we found the BEST costumes for all of us at Halloween Express and I just had to get them. Moms Check In What is Your Ideal Girls Night Out?

Moms Check In 1 Topic 5 moms (1)

National Women’s Friendship Day is this Saturday! My friends are so important to me. I think it is important to make a little time to spend with your friends. Friends are just what we need to keep us grounded, calm and relaxed. I need my friends for an occasional girl’s day or night. Just a few hours with my friends and I am one happy lady! 🙂

moms-check-in-girls-night-out-1

LindsayHeadShot3Border-300x300

My how times have changed. I really would have answered this so differently 15 years ago! Now my ideal girls’ day out would be coffee and breakfast in a cute little coffee shop, followed by some sort of spa day. We need manicures and pedicures in there too. They don’t happen nearly often enough. After that, some shopping and an early evening chick flick at the theater would be fantastic! Now who wants to go with me?

– Lindsay is the mom of 2 and author of See Mom Click. She shares great deals, Disney happenings and recipes. You can follow her on Twitter here!

My ideal GNO/GNI revolves around great food and great conversation, not necessarily in that order! It doesn’t happen often enough. Now that Sam is a little older I feel like I can take more “me” time so it’s bumped up on my priority list.

– Stephanie is the mom to Sam and the author of Spaceships and Laser Beams. If you ever need party ideas her site is the place to visit! Specializing in all things boy, it’s full of inspiration! Follow her on Twitter here!

Jenni-Eaves1-213x300

My ideal girls night out would consist of a good chick flick, dinner at my fave spot – Texas Roadhouse, and maybe even an adult drink or two. I NEVER get those, darn it!! I’m pretty easy to please. A fun night IN with the girls would probably be spent watching a movie, some bad for us snacks and drinks and a DIY mani/pedi!

Amanda-626x1024

Girls Night is a necessity! I am in a small group through our church called Girls Night Out (great name right?) and we meet every week. I look forward to it!! We meet for a couple hours and talk, hang out, eat dinner, sometimes do a Pinterest inspired project. I try to meet my best friend for lunch or manicures at least once a month. Sometimes we go longer. But we talk everyday! I think we need to make some time for our friends not only for them, but for ourselves too!
