While we were on our trip to The Space Coast in Florida one thing is for sure. We did not starve. Seriously we had so much great food! After we had visited the Port Canaveral Exploration Tower we headed across the street to eat lunch at Rusty’s Seafood and Oyster Bar.

I was instantly in love with the fun decor.

One thing that I noticed around the restaurant was that there were lots of signs about helping others.

There were signs for scholarships.

There were also signs for a background program for kids, water project and also to help the Brevard county hunger alliance. The owner, Rhett, met us and started to explain some of the pictures on the other walls.

It was filled with lots of older photos of what turns out was Rhett’s family and their restaurants. It turns out that Rhett is a 4th generation restauranteur.

Since the 40’s they have been serving the Cocoa Beach area. They take a lot of pride in not only their restaurant, but they are also passionate about giving back to their community and where they call home. I really loved that.

I also really liked the view. We sat outside on the new Tiki Bar and Deck. It’s the perfect place to watch giant cruise ships coming in and out.

While we were there they even had someone playing the steel drums. It was perfect. It gave our lunch a nice tropical feel but it wasn’t so loud that it was over powering either.

This is what happens when a group of bloggers get together. 🙂 Yes, we are all on our phones, taking photos, tweeting, and instagraming. And when the food comes, haha, we photograph it and pass it on to the next person to photograph. We are a strange, but wonderful group. 🙂

Speaking of the food….

We were greeted with our own special menus.

This was the Gorgonzola Bread. De-licious.

This was the Jumbo Lump Crab Au Gratin. It’s a mix of 4 cheeses with lump crab meat served with a sour dough bread loaf. This was one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted.

My friend Ericka from Ericka Saves ordered the Mahi Tacos. Don’t the look delicious?

I had a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. I was still pretty full from our breakfast at Sand on The Beach and with all of our appetizers! The dressing on this salad was perfect.

But Rusty’s wasn’t done yet! Then they brought out a piece of Colee’s Key Lime Pie.

I have never had Key Lime Pie before. I honestly figured I wouldn’t like it. But this Key Lime Pie is homemade.

And oh.my.gosh.

This was so amazing. If I could order it and have it shipped to Indiana….well, I would be eating a piece right now.

If you are visiting Port Canaveral or if your going to be in the area to take a cruise you really MUST stop by Rusty’s!

That looks like a great place to eat and to have some fun. All the food looks great but the Gorgonzola Bread really looks fabulous.

Oysters are not my thing so much but the rest of the food looks like it tasted great the one thing I love about restaurant’s is the way they design it and I loved the travel blogger idea I so would take part if they had something like that closer to me in Michigan.
