The Brevard Zoo – Florida’s Best Zoo
When we got to the Brevard Zoo we were immediately greeted and learned some some really neat facts about the zoo. The Brevard Zoo was built by volunteers and lots of them. When you are in the zoo you can see the love. Bricks are layed out with families names. Exhibits are sponsored by individuals. The level of pride is so immanent.
The Brevard Zoo is dedicated to teaching the public about animals as much as it is about preserving them.
They have a large area dedicated for kids and it has lots of hands on playing. There is a large water area for kids to play in.
There is a petting zoo, playground area, and an indoor area where kids can play in the sand box, dress up and help heal animals as a veterinarian and even see a few indoor animals.
The Brevard Zoo really wants to teach people about the animals and how to care for them. You can find volunteers out with animals for you to see up close.
In the rest of the zoo there were lots of animals, many that I haven’t seen before, which was very cool.
There were also lots of familiar animals too!
If you are a fan of birds, then you absolutely MUST visit The Brevard Zoo. Another cool thing that you can do is that you can kayak through the zoo (and the giraffe exhibit!) This is the only zoo that you can do that! You can also zipline or experience things such as alligator feedings, rhino experiences and more!
You can also feed the birds. But just be warned – they aren’t shy! 🙂
The Brevard Zoo was an impressive zoo. I really enjoyed it. I thought that the number of animals and the zoo was wonderful. I loved how passionate everyone was and how dedicated to teaching the community about animals and conservation. If you are on the Space Coast or simply just in Florida, The Brevard Zoo is a must!
