Tuckaway Shores Resort – A Look at Our Room & View
(Thanks Heidi for the photo!)
When I arrived at the Tuckaway Shores Resort, I was immediately greeted by Jacqui who is the Inn Keeper. Not only was she so incredibly friendly, but she was so knowledgeable about everything that the Space Coast area has to offer. As you will see in the posts to come, the Space Coast is a MUST stop if you come to Florida!
The resort from the outside is what you would call ‘Authentic Florida’. It’s what Florida used to look like before mile high hotels were built.
There are about 30 rooms, plus a heated pool, grilling area (with a Big Green Egg!), indoor gathering place, and of course, the beach. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I walked inside my room, but I was for sure blown away!
The rooms at Tuckaway Shores Resort are so much better than your traditional, newer hotel.
- The rooms are large. Not only do you have a nice, large bedroom with plenty of storage, but there is also plenty of room to play, relax and hang out with your family and friends in your living room.
- Two words: A kitchen. Vacation expenses can add up quickly. Especially eating out. Save yourself some time (and headache!) by visiting one of the many local grocery stores and bringing back things like cereals, sandwich supplies or even grilling supplies. If nothing else, you have room to store drinks and snacks for your visit.
- Two more words: That view! The picture above was taken right off my balcony. It honestly seemed like when you stood in your living room that you were standing right in the middle of the beach.
I spent my entire trip there with those big huge doors wide open just soaking up the view and the sounds of the ocean! Can you tell which room was mine? 🙂
- Relaxation. I always enjoy staying in hotels (well, almost always), but Tuckaway was completely different. I loved it. I felt like I went away to a home away from home. It’s a smaller building which means you aren’t one of the crowd. And when you do see someone, the staff knows your name and are so personable that it is more of running into a friend.
The beach is more secluded and private then you would find at any high-rise. You won’t have to worry about fighting for a spot on the beach here!
- These rooms are so incredibly clean. Tuckaway Shores is part of the Superior Small Lodging Association which has a 100 point checklist that it goes through with an announced visit. It’s also the winner of the White Glove Award which means, you guessed it, a white glove was used on all the tops of the cabinets, picture frames, etc and it came out clean. It has won this prestigious award every year for the past 5 years. I don’t know about you, but I know my house has some areas that I would not want a white glove testing! 🙂
- It’s affordable. With everything that you get including those views, direct ocean access and superior service you would think that it would be really expensive, but it’s not. Tuckaway Shores Resort has a price range from $125 – $145 a night. Plus, good for one year, you can use the code BLOG to get 20% off your booking. (Tuckaway also offers discounts for Florida residents, Active Military, First Responders, AAA Members and many more. Click here to see all discounts available.)
