If there’s something strange….

In your neighborhood….

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

This song has been stuck in my head for DAYS! Ever since we got our costumes in from Halloween Express, Josh has been running around in his costume zapping up bad guys, monsters and even the dog. Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year. We love decorating. We love the things to do in the fall. (Apple picking? Pumpkin carving? Hay rides? YES please!) But probably our favorite thing to do is to pick out the yearly Halloween costume.

Usually we wander into a party or Halloween store for the costume. They are nice don’t get me wrong! But they are so busy and crowded! Plus the one near us only has ONE dressing room. Yes, only one! So the whole process takes a while. Trying to find a costume….trying to find an associate…..trying to find another costume that they have your size in stock…..trying it on. You get the idea.

This year, we decided to shop online and give Halloween Express a try. Honestly, I’m glad we did! Here’s why:

It was cheaper!

The costume prices were initially the same that you would find in a costume store, but they have coupon codes available to lower the price. (And for you friends, I have a special coupon code just for you! Use MCI2014C to score 15% off your order – no min purchase required! You can also use the code FSMCIC2014ZLA for free shipping!) Speaking of free shipping, Halloween Express offers free shipping to military personnel year round, which I think is pretty cool. 🙂

Everything we needed was in stock!

Man, it was so nice to find a costume and find it in our size. Although you can’t try it on, Halloween Express was awesome about providing size charts and even had videos for a lot of the costumes showing what they looked like on. But just in case, they do offer free exchanges. Did I mention it was in stock? <— We even were able to find an Elsa costume in stock!! WOO HOO!!

It shipped quickly!

Our packages were sent out and received really quickly. We had them within days of ordering!

No Crowds!

Well, unless you count the crowd around my computer….we were able to shop at home, without fighting the crowds at the store. That’s the best part about shopping online right? 🙂

HUGE selection!

There were TONS of costumes to choose from. Everything was easy to find – search by character, age, category, pet costumes, family friendly costumes etc. Organized – you bet!

But they have so much more than just Halloween costumes! Tons of decorations for your yard, home and party! Plus, they even had some things for Christmas!

  1. Awesome giveaway! I would love to win! My favorite costume as a kid…. Well, I always liked to be a paper girl… even though I WAS a paper girl. But, I tell ya what, the paper bag fit all the candy amazingly.

  2. I loved the Ghostbusters movie and now you’ve got the song stuck in my head. They have some awesome costumes and I haven’t finished shopping for my kids yet. Will check them out.

  3. I never had a favorite costume as a child, but my oldest had one that was a lion once. That was my favorite costume for him.

  4. My favorite costume as a child was and elephant. I think I wore that costume many years in a row because I was obsessed for some reason.. haha

  5. Hmmmm, that’s a tough one! I think my favorite costume (although I was definitely NOT a child lol) was a pirate wench (pink with a brown velvet bodice and matching brown pirate hat)

  6. These are great costumes! I think my favorite costume as a child was a “my favorite Martian” costume my mom made. It was pretty cool.

  7. I was really tall so costumes never fit right, my aunt made me a white bunny costume that fit perfectly and since it was cold that year, she added extra layers on the inside to keep me warm!

  8. Great giveaway! Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays and I love seeing really creative costumes.

  9. My favorite costume as a kid was an angel costume my good friend’s mom made her. It was gorgeous. I was always a hobo. And my mom never took me trick or treating, lol. What’s up w/that/?? 🙂 We have made up for it w/my kids, and if my mom lived close by, I bet she’d love to go along now too. 😉

  10. My little one still fits into her costume from last year, so I told her this year she has to repeat it. Naturally she does not want to. I will have to check out the Halloween Express and based on that make a decision if she gets a new costume or not.

  11. I’m loving that Ghostbusters costume! I was a punk rocker for three years in a row, thanks to my amazingly creative babysitter & her huge closet. LOL

  12. Oddly, my favorite was being a ghost. It was simple and totally concealing – everything it needed to be and I didn’t have to do my usual angst trying to come up with something complicated. I’m sure my mom was relieved too. lol
