A Visit To Port Canaveral

Why You Should Visit The Port Canaveral Exploration Tower In Florida

Did you know that Port Canaveral is the second busiest port in the world? Soon, they are saying it will overtake Miami and become the most popular! During our Tuckaway Shores trip we stopped by the new Port Canaveral Exploration Tower to experience all 7 levels and learned about what is to come for this popular area!

The first thing you notice when you walk inside is a massive display of art. There are whales, dolphins, and jellyfish that are hung. It’s a really gorgeous display but the coolest thing about it is that this art work is made out of trash that would otherwise clutter the beach and water.

We started on the 7th floor and went out on the observation deck. This is such a beautiful place to be standing! If you are local, it would also be an amazing place to watch a shuttle launch! That’s right! Not too far off is where they do them and you can have the best seat in the house, right here.

The Exploration Tower is also a great place to rent out for events or business meetings. They also have begun to do live concerts and shows. I would think that the 4th of July would be a pretty spectacular show from right here.

I’ve never been on a cruise and I’ve never been this close to a cruise ship. I knew they were large, but I had no idea that they were this big! You can hang out and watch the cruise ships come in and out and it’s really neat. Everyone is standing outside, waving and it’s really a fun thing to witness!

Inside you can explore the other levels of the Port Canaveral Exploration Center. Each floor has a theme and is full of really neat information and lots of interactive learning experiences.

It makes for a really fun and exciting place for the kids to come and learn. I know my son would love to try steering the boat in the simulator!

Port Canaveral is a really neat place and they have a lot of plans on how to make it even better. If you are sailing out of the port or if you are in Florida visiting you really need to make sure to stop by the Exploration Tower! There is a lot of history and interesting things to learn about this area!

We saw one of the navigate your own boat things at a Naval museum this summer and it was the highlight of our trip. I bet the kids would love to visit here!

Wow, what a view. Outside and inside. The art work looks like it would be amazing and I would love to spend some time on the observation deck. The building itself is very unique.

I’ve never seen a big cruise ship, I bet they are big. We went on a cruise that went just off the shore once in Florida (slot machines were illegal on shore so the boat sailed off shore). I don’t think it was the same size though… it wasn’t huge. I’ve never been to Port Canveral. I’d love to visit.
